The GI Bill & Bootcamps

Every year, veterans utilize the GI Bill, which provides veterans with benefits towards health and education after they've returned from service.

Traditional higher education such as universities and colleges accept the GI bill as payment towards tuition. Up until recently, technology bootcamps weren't eligible for GI bill funding - but the tide is now turning. More and more bootcamps are going through the process of being approved for GI Bill tuition funding. In addition, many bootcamps are partnering up with colleges and universities to offer their curriculum to students, which allows students to use their GI Bill for tuition.

With the introduction of the Forever GI Bill in August 2017, some limitations have been lifted, and veterans can now use their GI Bill for nontraditional forms of higher education. Starting as early as August 2018, all veterans have the opportunity to enroll in technology programs (like bootcamps) with the new VA High Technology Pilot Program.
