The Life of Your Skills Fund Loan

Student lending can sometimes be smoke-and-mirrors - and that's not fair to any student. We want you to be completely informed during every step of the process, because this is about your future. We've created a step-by-step guide to exactly what happens when you apply for Skills Fund financing. Check it out!

FIRST THINGS FIRST... SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION

Apply after acceptance into your program. You'll apply directly from your school's partnership website.

Need help selecting a bootcamp? Start with Skills Fund. We only partner with the best programs. Browse from our coding, data science, cybersecurity, and growth marketing programs.

RECEIVE A DECISION IN MINUTES

  • If you're approved, you'll receive a decision in your browser.
  • If you're denied, you may be given the opportunity to add a cosigner.
  • Select schools offer Access Loans for credit-impaired students. If you are eligible, you will receive an email from Skills Fund.

NEXT UP: YOUR SCHOOL CERTIFIES THE LOAN

Skills Fund will double-check your loan info with the school you plan on attending.

Wisconsin residents: After loan is underwriting approved, a spousal agreement form is sent to you via postal mail. You will need to complete and return this document in order to move forward.

TIME TO CERTIFY YOUR APPLICATION

Once your loan is certified by your school, you need to review and sign your final loan documents. You have the option to electronically sign, or sign by mail.

FUNDS ARE SENT

Funds are disbursed two weeks after your program start date. Tuition funds are sent directly to your school. Any cost of living financing is sent to you via direct disbursement or paper check.

BEGIN REPAYMENT

Depending on your loan type, you'll start making full or interest-only payments roughly one month after your loan is disbursed.. Sign up at www.studentloan.org to make payments. More information on Skills Fund Repayment.
