Step-By-Step Guide to a Skills Fund Loan Application

The decision to attend a tech bootcamp is a big one: what school should I go to? What languages should I learn? Online or in-person? The list goes on.

The decision on what kind of financing you use should be easy. Skills Fund offers fixed rates, easy payments, and a dedicated customer support team.

STEP 1: BEGIN THE APPLICATION

After you’ve been accepted into the program you want to attend, head to our partnership website to read more about the terms and rates. Take advantage of our in-browser loan calculator to learn what your monthly payments will be.

If you haven't been accepted into a program yet, here are some tips & tricks to ace the bootcamp admissions interview.

STEP 2: GET A DECISION

Complete the online application. It’ll take less than ten minutes. At the end of the application, we’ll let you know whether or not you’ve been approved. If you’re denied, you may be given the opportunity to add a cosigner.

STEP 3: RELAX!

We'll take it from here. You're about to jump into an intense and exhilarating program - take a few days to chill out before you begin your bootcamp prep.

STEP 4: FUNDS ARE SENT

On the second Wednesday after your cohort starts, your tuition financing is sent to your school. If you’re financing any cost of living, your funds will be sent to you directly.

STEP 5: MAKE PAYMENTS

1. Start making payments 30 days after your cohort starts. Upon loan acceptance, we’ll provide you with several options for making payments. Visit www.studentloan.org to set up an account to make payments.
